Web Quest, U-tube

Webquest is really what's it is all about, linking together knowledge about a topics and questions using information found every where on the web, working and communicating together with others that share interests.Webquest subsequently wants us to scaffolding and link together resources, experiences and provide a platform for deeper cognitive processing to occur.' Challenge our learners to think ' (Dodge 2001).
U-tube I have used u-tube to access advertising and find out information on products. I am aware of the many uses of U-tube both personally and commercially speaking and caution and permission must be taken when looking at posting anything on such an open part of the world wide web. For teaching U-tube represents good opportunities to site parallel interests in key learning areas in order to keep classrooms interesting and alive(Marzano & Pickering 1997).

Introducing my Voki

Quizzes

Kids love them, great way to find out whether or not learning has occurred by revisiting units with quizzes, together in groups or individually. By the way I got 6 out of 6 for my moodle quiz. Yeah!!

Google Earth, Maps: How I would use these as a Teacher

There are many of us that will never have the oppurtunity to travel or experience interesting and exotict places around the world. As a pre-service teacher who has past experience in culture and ethnic places around the world, it would be satisfing to share these experiences and allow for curiosity to take over.

As hopefully in the near future I will be a teacher and I could already image using Google Earth and Google Maps in my lesson plans for both of my disiplines.
The most wonderful thing about food is that it has arrived from many countries around the world and when introducing cultural dishes for year 8s the questions of where did these foods and dishes arrive from and why?
Locating and linking the countries and places with pictures of dishes that they are famous for; examples India - Nan Bread and Chicken Marsala,
Italy - Lasagne and Pizzas, Japan- Sushi. All of these places could be marked and linked with the foods they have made in classes.

Business students have the opportunity to use google maps for marketing there goods or business. One of the first things about being in business is to know you is your market and who are your competitors. Google Maps allows customers to find you which is very important!
